HOLIDAY ITINERARY:

DAY 1  ARRIVAL IN LJUBLJANA 

Your gourmet e-biking holiday starts with an overnight stay in the beautiful capital city of Slovenia, Ljubljana. After checking into your hotel you can rent a city bike and explore the main attractions in the historical city center, follow the river banks and cross multiple city bridges and relax in the green part of Ljubljana called the Tivoli park. Visit Ljubljana Castle and treat yourself to beautiful views of the city from the castle’s ramparts or Outlook Tower. In the afternoon you will meet your guide and the rest of the guests in the hotel. During a welcome dinner with traditional Slovenian food you will discuss all the details about your upcoming trip.

DAY 2  LAKE BLED TO KRANJSKA GORA

After breakfast a short transfer will take you to Lake Bled, one of the country’s most famous sights. Your alpine fairytale day will start with a warm-up ride around the lake where the stunning views on Bled Island with the Church and a medieval Bled Castle will charm you. Short break for coffee and local specialty, Bled cream cake is a must. Biking adventure continues in the Triglav National Park with a ride through the scenic Radovna Valley, which is full of pristine pasturelands. Passing hidden Lake Kreda and enjoying the views of the Julian Alps in the distance. Slowly descending to the village of Mojstrana, where you will have views of Mt. Triglav, the highest mountain in Slovenia. One of the most picturesque trails in the Upper Sava Valley, which runs alongside the former railroad from Italy, takes you to the famous Slovenian alpine resort Kranjska Gora surrounded by mountains and located near the border with Italy and Austria. Later in the afternoon explore this picturesque ski resort at your leisure before dinner with delicious local food and amazing view of the surrounding mountains.

DAY 3 – AROUND KRANJSKA GORA AND TWO LAKES

The pleasant cycling trail from Kranjska Gora leads you across the Italian border to Laghi di Fusine (Fusine Lakes). Enjoy breathtaking views of Mt. Mangart. Back on your e-bike and to the Nordic centre Planica, which hosts the best ski jumpers of the world every year. Continue the journey at a leisurely pace below Ponce towards the hut in the Tamar Valley with a spectacular view of the surrounding peaks. Stop at the hut and take time for a break and lunch. Afterward, you take an enjoyable descent back to Kranjska Gora and stunning Lake Jasna, surrounded by the Julian Alps.
Later in the afternoon, take some time to relax, and find a quaint restaurant to have dinner on your own.

DAY 4 – SOČA VALLEY
 

After breakfast, the scenic mountain road will take you into one of the few unspoiled river valleys in the world, Soča River Valley. Bike along the emerald Soča river, cross the wooden suspension bridge and spot kayakers and rafters paddling through the river's rapids. The day will be a blend of nature, history and delicious food. We’ll leave the Julian Alps behind and enter into the Mediterranean landscape in the Karst wine growing region. A family-owned wine estate will be our home for the next two days. Enjoy ​by the pool with a glass of wine before dinner with traditional dishes.

DAY 5 – KARST LOOP

The Slovenian Karst is a very special world. Their appearance and soul represents the stone, vineyards, exceptional Karst prosciutto and the famous Teran red wine. Piece of paradise that will surely grip every visitor. Today you explore this unique region and make a loop ride through picturesque small villages and visit the pearl of the Karst stone medieval villages – Štanjel. Bike along the rugged countryside, vineyards, endless stone walls and feel the history and culture of this region. There will be many opportunities to stop and enjoy the moment. After biking, enjoy the wine tasting and relax in the pool with the view of the vineyards. For dinner, a short drive to the very edge of the Karst with a view of the entire Vipava valley. Visit a small locally-run business and enter the world of cheese. In the same village enjoy delicious local food for your dinner.

DAY 6 – VIPAVA VALLEY

Discover the green land of Vipava Valley, caught between the Alpine, Karst and the Mediterranean world. Pedal to the charming centuries-old small town Vipavski Križ, located on a hill in the middle of the Vipava valley, bike through the narrow streets and discover the legends of the Vipava pearl. Enjoy the panoramic views of small clustered villages and cycle through vineyards. Your biking journey will end directly at the winemaker. Tour the wine cellar, taste their delicious wines and home made cold cuts. After wine tasting, transfer to the Slovenian Coast town Izola, renowned for its fishing, winemaking traditions. The medieval town, with its narrow streets and church on a hilltop, charms with its many parks and eight beaches. Free time to explore the town and enjoy dinner with delicious sea food on your own.

DAY 7 – SLOVENIAN COAST

Start your biking day in Izola and pedal to the stunning viewpoint towards the sea and Moon bay. With good visibility, the view reaches all the way to Mt. Triglav-highest mountain in Slovenia. Slowly descendent to The Strunjan saltpans, the northernmost and smallest saltpans in the Mediterranean, where salt has been produced according to traditional methods for over 700 years. Continue biking on the Parenzana trail, former narrow-gauge railroad connecting 33 Istrian towns from Trieste (Italy) and Poreč (Croatia). The biking path offers scenic views of the Izola bay, pedal through vineyards, olive groves and preserved tunnels and bridges along the countryside. Along the coast reach charming and romantic Piran, full of narrow streets, churches, and squares. The rich history of the town is reflected in the Venetian architecture. Take a break for lunch in one of the restaurants on your own before biking back to Izola. In the evening a short transfer to the countryside of Slovenian Istria for the farewell dinner and wine tasting. Together, we will raise a toast to a great e-biking adventure in Slovenia.

DAY 8 – GOODBYE SLOVENIA 

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast or take a walk to the beaches of Izola. Your guide will transfer you to the vibrant capital town of Ljubljana to catch afternoon flights.

How fit do I need to be?

The itinerary of this Gourmet e-biking tour in Slovenia is designed to make it a true vacation, not a race! Suitable for most active people with good stamina and basic cycling experience.

This tour offers a combination of easy terrain and moderate hills and is ideal for beginning and experienced cyclists. Cycling from Alps to Adriatic is suitable for most people who enjoy e-biking and are fit enough for multiple days on a saddle in a row. The stages are around 33 km (20 miles) long on average, The roads are mostly traffic-free tarmac and some gravel parts. The pace is leisurely in order to enjoy the scenery along the way.

Yes! If you’d like to skip the hassle of bringing a bike with you to Slovenia, your guides offer bike rental. Prices are per person and for the entire week of cycling:
